no, i wasn't supporting france. I'm a die-hard germany fan when it comes to soccer. I just didn't want italy to win.
I'm not sure what you meant by "blew up," but one of italy's players insulted Zidane's mother and sister and called him a dog, and Zidane pounded the guy on the chest with his head, getting him a red card.
That was an interesting episode, and only now did the talk of it blow over. That headbutt was quite a surprise, especially since he was on such good behavior the whole time. Didn't he win the golden something award?

Well, he came out to publically apologize... heard he may have his reward revoked, but also heard there's a case where the red may have been given unfairly. I don't know... I hear things second hand from the news.
I haven't checked up on any world cup news since the finals, but I do think Zidane deserves that golden shoe, despite the red card. He's a fine, fine player.
