1. An Orca used to be known as a Killer Whale. Contrary to its old name, many people thought that this is a homicidal whale of the ocean. It is not. The reason for the name change by the biological community is to prevent society's misunderstandings. Hence, conserving the species. Another example is the Painted Dog in Africa which used to be called the Wild Dog. Cos of the name "Wild Dog" people have hunted this species down to near-extinction thinking it would stalk and hunt people down when in fact, it never harmed anybody (I think).
2. Shamu is just a freakin' stage name for all the Orcas used in show. Which could explain why over 20 years, that this whale is still alive and kickin'. FYI, the real Shamu lived in the 1960's or 1970's and is dead. God rest his blubbery soul....
3. I have to ask, how can u post so many messages? How much free time do you have?
4. If this message has been posted before, my apologies. It's because when I clicked to have it posted the first time, it didn't go
through.
5. Yes, I am a biology/biotechnology graduate and u can find more of the Orcas through search engines.
